AIM is suspending indefinitely rent and utility assistance through our Pivotal Support Program. Funding for this type of support has become incredibly difficult to find, so it will be limited to clients who are in our education and training programs: Employment Pathways and Women and Children Succeeding. Please know that we will continue to serve the Anderson community through all of the programs listed below.
Our mission is connecting people with support, resources and education so they can empower themselves to become self-sufficient.
WACS empowers moms to reach their career goals by earning a degree. Each scholar is a full-time student gaining the necessary skills for their profession through local colleges and universities. Our holistic approach focuses on balancing academics, career planning, family and life, finances, health, and faith to reach your full potential.
Employment Pathways connects participants with resources and education to obtain full-time, sustainable employment. Participants work with a career coach to evaluate employment needs and develop a plan of action to include work readiness training, career counseling, certification opportunities, and job search assistance.
The United Way Financial Stability Center at AIM is the hub for services that support community financial wellness. Monthly classes and workshops are FREE to all. In addition, eligible individuals may benefit from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and the X-Factor employment training.
Community homeowners who are low-income earners may be eligible for assistance with needed household maintenance or adjustments. Eligible services include ramps and other necessary repairs that threaten the health and safety of these families and their ability to remain living in their home.
Available to help meet the needs of families with food insecurity within the Anderson Community, we offer a variety of programs throughout the year. Recipients include residents in temporary need and families who are receiving SNAP benefits. We are most known for our drive-thru Food Pantry where households may receive assistance once each month. We are open Monday–Friday from 9:00–10:00 am or until 45 families are served.
