There is no doubt that wood is a natural resource that can be burned and used as a source of heat for those who do not have any other heating source for their homes. 

"Many residents without heat...are not physically able to go out and chop trees down...." 

The unfortunate thing about using wood to heat a home is that it must be cut from a tree and split into usable pieces that will be fit for a fireplace or wood burning stove. Many of the residents without heat in Anderson County are not physically able to go out and chop trees down or spit wood themselves, but they do not deserve to freeze during the winter! That is why AIM has a program designed to help those clients get wood that they can use for heating their homes.
