Operations Director:

Laura Capell

Laura is a lifelong resident of Anderson County.  After attending T.L. Hanna High School and Anderson University, she married her high school sweetheart, Chris and they made their home in Pendleton, SC. Laura came to AIM from the corporate world as a marketing and events executive.  She took a tour of AIM and knew the Lord was calling her to this amazing place. (Those tours work!)

Outside of her duties at AIM, Laura enjoys reading, gardening, keeping pace with her 2 teenage daughters and a daily Coke Zero.

Strengthening Families Manager:

Vernita Boone Brown

  • Email: vernita.boone@aimcharity.org
  • Phone: x133- (864)965-9083

Vernita is originally from Tampa, Florida. She came to the Upstate of South Carolina to become a Clemson Tiger. Then, she met a boy - and God (in all His humor and strategy) has made this their home.  Vernita joined AIM as Emergency Assistance Coordinator initially, and now is employed as the Strengthening Families Manager. Her favorite memory from her time at AIM is when the staff all went to the Dancing For Our Heroes Event (put on by the Rotary Club of Greater Anderson) and watched Kristi dance to win Judge’s choice!  Everyone had a blast and were so proud of her!
